A KINGDOM VISION FOR INTIMACY, DESIRE, AND SEXUAL PRACTICE 2

Event:
Speakers: MaryKate Morse (host), Tim Keel, Bruxy Cavey, Christopher West, Eve Tushnet

Created in God’s image, human beings are inherently sexual. Intimacy, desire, and sexual practice among men and women are good parts of God’s created order. At the same time, as those subject to the effects of sin, evil, and brokenness, we must be open to the ways that our sexual desires and practices may be dis-ordered, failing to reflect God’s good intentions. Developing a kingdom vision around these issues involves, at the very least, (re)emphasizing Jesus’ call to his followers to love as he loved and a recognition that we live in the already/not-yet reality of God’s work of reconciliation and recreation. Such a vision offers new possibilities for (re)shaping the nature of our discourse and engagement around these important dimensions of human nature.
