Grappling With Race and Reconciliation as Resurrected Sons and Daughters 2

Event:
Speakers: Aaron Graham (host), Leroy Barber, Helen Lee, Brenda Salter McNeil, Brian Zahnd

While there has never been a time in history that “race” hasn’t played an important role in how humans relate to each other, for Americans, recent events have accentuated the depth of race-related tension that exists in our context. More than this, these events and ensuing conversations have shone a brighter light on the extent to which many of our churches reinforce division along racial lines. As those who affirm that in Christ God is creating a new humanity, one that seeks an embodied unity across racial (and other) lines, these are crucial conversations for us to engage. A fresh focus of the resurrection as central to Christian identity and practice provides a strategic on-ramp to advancing the life and witness of the Church as the reconciled and reconciling Body of Christ.
