PRAYER AS FORMATION OF TRUE HUMANITY

Prayer is not tool to manage God, it’s a practice of human formation. The primary purpose of prayer is not to get God to do what we think God ought to do, but to be properly formed into the likeness of Jesus as the “truly human one.” If our aim is to form a Christian soul, prayer must be more than “just talking to God.” We need the liturgies (the prayers) of proper spiritual formation to lead us into the life of the resurrection.
