The fabric of Good Friday is too often interwoven with the joy of Easter.  The observance of Good Friday asks us to stay fully in the moments given to us – even, and perhaps especially, the sad ones.  Let’s not rush to Easter.  The rich lament of Good Friday shapes our spirit.

Quotes from The Common Book of Prayer, Episcopalian Church 1979 and Ann Weems, “Friday.”
