We have been so encouraged by the stories and reflections that have emerged since the 2017 Gathering that we’re excited to announce our next national gathering as a continuance of the work begun there.
We hope you’ll mark your calendars to join us March 28-30 back in Alexandria for Awakenings: The Life of the Church for the Sake of the World.
We’re very excited to have a good number of those who presented in 2017 joining us again to expand on their talks and lead our conversations to an even deeper place. And we are equally glad to be joined by a number of other friends who will help us broaden the scope of these conversations in crucial ways.
The big question behind 2019’s gathering is this:
If we really lean into the reality that the mission of God, the Holy Spirit, is the very source of the church’s life, how will this influence our posture, witness, and engagement in this world that God so deeply loves?
Especially in our cultural moment, we need come together to have fresh conversations with a diverse array of brothers and sisters.
- Conversations about the biblical nature of the church
- Conversations about her witness amid the political and cultural challenges of our day
- Conversations about the character of those we look to as leaders
- Conversations about the missionary expressions of the church invited by the future we are moving toward
And most of all, conversations about how God might be leading us into all this through new forms of togetherness for the sake of the world!
