As I reflect on 2021, I do so with tremendous gratefulness. Missio Alliance had a landmark year in 2021, despite the considerable challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

With input from many of you, Missio Alliance crafted a strategic direction at the outset of the year. Refining our purpose toward reshaping the church’s witness in the world set a bold and clear trajectory for our work in the years ahead. We kicked off our sequence of virtual gatherings with an outstanding event engaging the crucial issues of resilience, race, and resistance, followed by a two-day event in the spring exploring the integration and essential nature of formation, justice, and mission for the reshaping of the church’s witness. Finally, we explored the nature of the gospel and salvation from a variety of marginalized perspectives in order to gain a fuller understanding of God and God’s love for humanity.

Because of your generosity in 2020, we launched our inaugural Writing Fellows cohort. We were pleased to platform these seven thought leaders whose passion for the mission of God in the world helped us consider what it means to live faithfully as Jesus followers in this time and place in history. Our Writing Fellows feature writers from communities of color and from the majority world. We look forward to continuing to platform their perspectives into 2022!

In addition to growing our Writing Collectives and implementing new virtual gatherings, we also expanded our podcast network. A growing group of podcasters cover content from managing leadership anxiety and missional theology to interviews with world-class changemakers, allowing listeners the opportunity to gain valuable insight across a variety of topics to help shape their leadership and mission.

As I look ahead into 2022, I do so with great anticipation! Missio Alliance will continue its important work of inviting Christian leaders into a generative, expansive, intercultural network to cultivate a holistic theology and practice. Our posture will be humble and hopeful with an unwavering commitment to formational conversations around the crucial issues of our day in relation to God’s mission. We invite you to give today to help us continue this important work!

When you give any amount, you’ll receive our 2021 eBook, “Reshaping The Church’s Witness: Featured Articles from our 2021 Writing Fellows” for free. Thank you for your support!
